Nov. 2nd: Tianyu was promoted to Associate Editor of Materials Science and Physics in Wiley.
Sept. 22nd: Tianyu visited Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, CAS and gave a presentation on how to maximize the novelty of a research work.
May 12th: Tianyu visited Zhejiang University, Haining International Campus and delivered a talk entitled "Avoiding Pitfalls in Manuscript Preparation and Submission."
Mar. 11th: Tianyu was recognized by Journal of Materials Chemistry A as an Outstanding Reviewer in 2020. Three years in a row!
Dec. 20th: Tianyu attended the Academic Forum on Green Chemistry and Energy Materials held in Nanjing Forestry University in China, and delivered a talk entitled "Publishing and Advancing Big Ideas with Wiley Materials Science Journals."
Dec 21st: Tianyu was invited as a panelist to discuss the experience of managing a focus issue of Journal of Materials Research.
Nov. 21st: Tianyu was selected as a mentor for the MRS Undergraduate Mentoring program held during the 2018 Fall MRS Meeting at Boston, MA, US.
Oct. 22nd: Tianyu was appointed as a news writer for the 2018 MRS Fall Meeting at Boston, MA, US.
Sept. 13th: Tianyu was recognized by Publons as a top 1% reviewer in materials science.
Aug. 23rd: Tianyu was invited to serve as a blog writer for the WeChat platform of Royal Society of Chemistry. He will write blogs to promote selected papers published in Chemical Communications. Stay tuned!
Apr. 11th: Tianyu was recognized as an outstanding reviewer (among the top 10% of the reviewers in terms of the number of manuscript reviews completed during the last two years and review quality) for Additive Manufacturing.
Apr. 1st: Tianyu received the Extraordinary Potential Prize of 2017 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad.
Mar. 27th: Tianyu was invited by the Virginia Tech Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology to give a talk on his research. The talk is titled "Polymer Nanofibers for Electrochemical Energy Storage (Supercapacitors)" and the slides can be accessed here.

Mar. 17th: Tianyu completed the online academic reviewer training offered by the ACS Reviewer Lab program.
Mar. 14th: Tianyu's photo was featured on THE BURGS, a local newspaper in the New River Valley of Virginia, U.S.

Feb. 28th: Tianyu's co-authored prospective paper "Generating Electricity on Chips: Microfluidic Biofuel Cells in Perspective" was highlighted on the cover of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research.
Jan. 20th: Tianyu was invited and joined TsingSun Power (清新电源) as an editor. TsingSun Power, a WeChat public platform initiated by Tsinghua University (Shenzhen Campus) in China, aims to introduce the cutting-edge research on materials research associated with energy utilization.
Jan. 15th: Tianyu was appointed as a blog writer for Materials Research Society (MRS) and a news contributor for MRS Bulletin, a journal managed by MRS.
Dec. 1st: Tianyu served as an alternate session chair for 2017 Fall MRS Meeting Symposium 04: Interfaces in Electrochemical Energy Storage.
Oct. 27th: Yu and Tianyu's work on "Three-dimensional Carbon Architectures for Electrochemical Capacitors" has been highlighted on the front cover of J. Colloid Interface Sci.
Oct. 19th: Tianyu was appointed as a mentor for the Broadening Participation in Materials Undergraduate Student Event at the 2017 MRS Fall Meeting.

Oct. 11th: Tianyu was appointed as a member of the advisory board of Cai Liao Niu, a WeChat public platform dedicating to materials science education, news and promotion of the cutting-edge research achievements.
Oct. 9th: Tianyu's scientific artwork "Pollution-fighting Flowers" was highlighted on the C&EN, a weekly magazine published by American Chemical Society.
Jul. 13th: Tianyu was invited by the Electrochemical Society San Francisco Section to highlight his research and extracurricular activities in the 2017 Cubicciotti award ceremony. The presentation slides can be accessed here.
Jul. 12th: Tianyu was invited by Cai Liao Niu to organize a web-based discussion forum on the topic of "Sustainable Energy Conversion and Storage: Higher, Faster and Stronger". The forum is now open for the presentation abstract submission.

Mar. 22nd: Tianyu is selected to participate in the MRS Science Writing workshop held in the 2017 MRS Spring Meeting. The workshop recruited 12 participants only all over the world.
Mar. 20th: Tianyu’s artwork “Succulent Flowers” has been selected as one of the final entrants for the “Science as Art” competition of the 2017 MRS Spring Meeting.

Mar. 1st: Tianyu is invited by the UCSC Chemistry Club to give a guest lecture on Quantum Dots.
Feb.18th: Tianyu is invited to serve as a writer and editor for Cai Liao Niu, a public scientific media dedicated to rapid communication of cutting-edge and ground-breaking material research works to Chinese material scientists.
Feb. 16th: Tianyu wrote a public science blog entitled "Introduction of Printing Method: Mechanism and Applications in Supercapacitors" (in Chinese) on Cai Liao Niu. Article avaliable here.
